Wine and Greyhound Painting

Back in February, I went to a fundraiser at Wine and Design to drink some wine and paint a greyhound. Wine and Greyhounds. Always a good combo. We were given a canvas with the outline of a greyhound.
Three brushes for the acrylic paint we were using.
With wine flowing, I start laying paint to canvas.
With our instructor McClean giving us pointers, we are all having a go at it.
Before I know it, I realize I am painting Stella. Miss you sweet girl.
Once finished with the painting, we put on a border. There even appears to be roaching greyhound painting.
A few more strokes, and a purple collar make Stella complete.
Kris and Trina finish off the wine while displaying their artwork.

The best part was when McClean presented Joyce with a check for James River Greyhounds. Thanks for putting this together, Joyce. We had a blast.

St. Paddy's Day Parade

We took the girls up to Fredericksburg on Saturday for the St. Paddy’s Day Parade at the local brewery. Too bad they didn’t get to ride the train.
We were getting lined up as the photographer for the local paper couldn’t resist coming by to take pictures.
The girls look good in green.
Kelli gets a kiss from Jenny for luck.

Jenny was a good girl and totally ignored the dachshund in the tutu, who was barking her head off.

B&W Sunday - On The Bed

Parker catching some rays on the bed.
Kelli brought in a chunk of ice from outside, and decided to eat it on the bed.

Toofless Tuesday

ETS happens for many reasons in greyhounds. Losing teeth does not help. Stanley lost a couple of teeth on the same side after his last couple of dentals.
But Alle had to have all her teeth pulled as she is allergic to her own plaque/tartar.

In memory of our sweet girls Jaime and Stella, Kris got a Tripod necklace from Beth Wade Design

Mini-Me Family is Complete

We received our last two Mini-Me’s of Isabel and Noah to make our Mini-Me family complete.
Come on everybody. Let’s go get a family portrait on the front steps.
Dogs on top. Kitties on the bottom. Kelli, Stanley, Jenny, and Parker are still with us.
Thank you so much Lynne for making our entire Mini-Me family. We just adore them. If you would like your own, please click on this Mini-Me link, or click on the Mini-Me badge on the right of this blog.

B/W Sunday - Manual Mode

With a few fellow bloggers going full Manual mode on their cameras, I slapped on the 50mm f/1.4 and moved the dial to M.
Jenny, who used to be an outside dog, is very glad that she gets to lay in soft bed in front of the fireplace when it’s freezing outside.
Stanley was slowly sliding off the couch, and needed his momma’s help to keep from falling off.
Blue is wondering why this man keeps shoving a camera in his face while he’s trying to sleep.

Kelli. Always keeping one eye open.

Dental & Dana's Birthday

Kelli likes to do zoomies in the house. Sometimes on the bed. How do I know it was her that did this?
She left her signature behind. Her favorite bone. The deer antler.
Proud of her work, she takes a nap in a pool of sunlight.
Parker introduces Kelli to his perennial winter favorite. The poopsicle.
Stanley didn’t want to join in. His mouth was hurting from a couple of extractions during his dental.
The hippo was soft and plush, so he used it to hold his head up.
Trina brought her kids over on the weekend. Dana, did you know it’s your birthday? You’ve reached the big One Three.
Aunt Kristen made you a pumpkin cake.
Dana blows out the candles.
With the candles blown out, Parker sees no reason not to help himself to the entire cake.
Dana get hand-fed by her mommy.
If you make cake, they will come.

Hanging out till the cake runs out.

Kelli's Snow Day

Daddy, what is this white powdery stuff? We didn’t have it in Florida.
I took a big whiff, and it doesn’t really smell like anything.
But it’s making me feel frisky.
Like I’m a big flying squirrel.
Like I’m a crazy kangaroo.
It’s Zoomie time!

Ok, I’m done. Better get out my way. I’m heading back in.
