Marrow Bones

As Trina mentioned a few posts back, we split half a cow (over 400+ lbs) with her. Freezer is full of beef cuts. Cows have bones. Now the kids have a yummy treat.
Stella gnaws on a bone. Between this and brushing their teeth, we’re slowly working on getting rid of the tartar.
Stanley finds a comfy dog bed to work on sucking out the marrow.
Jaime works on the fleshy bits before heading for the marrow.
Parker meticulously works on every bit of the bone.
Daddy, ain’t no meat left, and I done sucked out all the marrow. Can I have another?

  1. What lucky dogs! Love the last picture...maybe you shouldn't have told them you had a freezer full, LOL.

  2. I agree, those are some very lucky pups! We used to give ours raw turkey necks, but haven't in a while because of the mess factor. It reminds me that I need to find them some good bones again, though!

  3. we pick up marrow/soup bones when we get groceries and throw them in the freezer. Once or twice a week we get out the old sheets and towels (mess control) and give Ava and Apollo each a chew bone. They work on them for over an hour until they are shiny clean, no marrow, no meat, no fat. They love "chew bone" night!

  5. Princess Beryl refuses to touch a bone most of the time. She surprised me by taking over one Frankie had stripped the meat off a couple of weeks ago. I wish she enjoyed them like your guys do:)
