Bossie & Boys' Birthdays

VAGA had a haul this past weekend. Rex and Linda picked them up in NC, and we did a little swap in Fredericksburg. The three fawn kids went on to Carolyn’s for adoption.
CNN News Flash, currently known as Flash, joins his new family. He’s a handsome boy. Abigail already seems infatuated with him. Hey, hey, are you my new brother? Bomber says, hey, take a picture of me. I’m handsome too.
Bossie, the brindle in the first pic, came back home with me. She joined our regular crew as well as the Pine kids who were with us for the weekend. Can you count all eight? They were just flopping down in random spots in the yard.
Last time Jasmine was here, I took a pic of her eating a tree in the yard. This time, she just decided to eat her brother, Luke. He has that look like, jeez, not again.
Bossie is a sweet little girl. Not sure why they called her that. She is somewhat shy, and definitely not bossy at all.
She learned to do the stairs after watching someone else do it. Then she went through the doggie door after just watching. I think she probably learned to be a master roacher on her own. What great form.
She was happy to have a yard to run around in. So happy, she did her T-Rex impression.

She’s a teeny brindle with cute little white feet. Kris couldn’t stand it, and we cut her nails not long after this pic was taken.
Hey Bossie, look at the camera. Looks like she didn’t expect me to sneak up with the camera while she was trying to take a nap.
The pool has been on our deck for weeks. No one even stepped in it. Till Bossie.

        Boys’ Birthdays.
Stanley turned 6 this past weekend. Here is one of our favorite pics of him. We need to get him a helmet if he’s going to play serious ball. He’s such a sweet boy. We just love the big goofy boys.
Parker turned 9 this week. Always funny how people try to adopt him at a greyhound Meet ‘n Greet because they think he’s a puppy we’re trying to get rid of. Of course if they have a treat in their hand, Parker would be happy to leave.

4th of July Celebrations

Gotta love a long July 4th weekend. Friday we went over to Abigail and Bomber’s house for a cookout. We could see the smoke from the grill as we pulled up. Since we still had a houseful, we only took our greys.
Bomber is such a handsome boy. But he’s not afraid to wink and show a little (ok, a lot) of tongue.
Abigail says, what? Speak up. Can’t hear you. I think she used them as air brakes to slow down after a race.
Bomber says no more goofy shots. I need one of me looking regal.
All the kids hanging out on the patio while we enjoy the cooler weather after the storm passed.
On Saturday, we went to the Petco Meet ‘n Greet. It was too hot and steamy to stand outside.
After the MnG, we headed down to Trina’s. You can check out more pics at Trina’s blog.
Jaime enjoying a dip in the pool.

Stanley finally got his splint off a couple of days before the party. Run Forrest, Run!!!
Diego shows that a whippet can keep up with his greyhound big sister.

Blue shows Jaime how the pool is really supposed to be used. Naked rump and all.
Trina shows off the ‘Dana’ cookie. Allie says whatever! I look like that cookie too.

A full deck. ‘Scuse me. Need a refill.
Not enough beds? No problem. Ana with her mommy.

Coming and Going

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve had quite the coming and going of boarders, a foster, and even Murphy. Watching a handful of greyhounds is really not that much trouble. Feeding time can get a little chaotic. Throw a little Murphy terrier-mix into the bunch, and all bets are off.
It was a quiet few days after Bella left, then Sabrina came to stay for a few days. She’s a good sleeper. On a dog bed.
On the couch.
Over the weekend, we met up with Trina for the James River Wine Festival. Everyone adored the hounds. Another great hound and wine event.
Clay came to stay with us for a week. But ended up staying two. We just love the old man. Look at that face, how could you not.
He still trots around the yard. Pretty good for 12 year old.

We fostered Sunny for a bit a while back. She came back to stay for a few days. I tried to get a nice yard shot, but she always had her head down grazing on grass.
Maggie is a sweet shy little girl. She tended to go upstairs to get away from the ruckus if there was too much activity downstairs.
Whyda also came to stay for a few days during this time. She is a couch girl, and exchanged a few words with Stella at first. But then she got used to sharing with 1 or 2 or 3 other greyhounds.
Topsail came while the girls were here. Actually, he’s still here. He will get picked up this afternoon. He exemplifies what it is to be a big goofy boy.
Jack is our foster. He has been here the entire time except for a few days in the middle. He was taking a test-drive with his new family. He is back here for a few days while his new family is on vacation. Handsome, ain’t he?
Accidentally hit the squawker? The only way to settle them down is to give them the treats they are expecting. Think these guys are squawker-trained?
We might need to get a bigger muzzle hanger.
So nice when everyone lays down. Can you count all ten? Parker is hiding under the table.
