St. Patty's Parade

Some sad news before I get to the parade pictures. Harper, with the cast from the last post, crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past week. I am glad we got to watch her one last time.

Now on to happier news. We were in the St. Patty’s Day parade held by our local microbrewery, Blue and Gray. The Harley group next to us couldn’t resist coming over to love on the kids.

A few more greys show up in anticipation of the start.

This is the original BowWow Bonnet that we got for Stella. She still loves to wear it.

As the sun comes out, and it starts to warm up, Stella and Parker look for shade.

Stanley finds himself a nice patch of shade.

Jaime relaxing before we start to line up.

We were group 16, and tried to get everyone in line before we got to the actual parade route. Quite a few leashes got crossed.

A spectator view from the sidelines.
The actual route wasn’t very long, but Stanley was pooped.

Sunny was happy to get back from the parade and rest in her usual spot. She came up 4 years ago, and while she was our foster for a few days, we took her to the St. Patty’s Day parade. That must have been quite a shock for a dog straight off the track.

  1. I love the bonnet and hats! The parades always look so fun. Sorry to hear about Harper. Hope her family is doing alright.

  2. All the pics are cute, but I love the one of Jamie with that hat. Too stinking cute. :)

  3. We do a Reindog Parade every year and I love it. Looks like everyone had a wonderful time. LOVE the I want hats for Freedom, Casper and Nikki.

  4. Love parades! They are much more fun this time of year instead of the heat of summer. So sorry about Harper.

  5. That looks like so much fun and those hats are cute! I love seeing groups of greyhounds together. They always are so excited to see each other, like long lost friends.

  6. I agree with everyone else that the hats are all adorable! I must admit that as a spectator (Tracy was busy and couldn't go or watch Lauren and there's no way I could have handled all 3 kids in a parade by myself, so I just went with Lauren!), I was not impressed with this parade, but your pictures turned out great all the same!

  7. I took Bunny to the Saint Patrick's Day parade last year and she hated it. The fire trucks were not her cup of tea at all. I still wish we had a group around here that we could walk in the parade with, though! Your kids look so festive!

  8. Great pictures and it looks like such a fun event. I'm glad there were so many beautiful dogs to parade.

  9. I'm sorry to hear about Harper. She fought a good fight.

The parade looks like a lot of fun and very tiring. Before we adopted Jack, we walked him in a parade. We decided to adopt him because he behaved so well at such a loud event.

  10. Ooooh I'm so proud of you with all that Irishness showing through!! Deccy x

  11. So sorry about Harper. I am glad I was able to meet her. The kids look so cute in their costumes..

  12. So sorry to hear about Harper!

Love all the hounds dressed up for the parde, great hats and bonnets.
